UA announces innovation grant program |

University of Arkansas just announced that the University will invest up to $1 million in a new university program called Discovery, Creativity, Innovation and Collaboration Fund. Faculty and students at the university will be able to apply for about 10 to 15 grants given out annually.
The funds to support this program will come mostly from SEC Network and television revenues related to the airing of UA sporting events. The school's athletic department expects to contribute about $750,000 anually to the fund. The athletic department received approximately $29 million from media rights during the 2015-16 fiscal year.
The first awards will likely be announced this fall.
