The evening will include personal stories from the speaker celebrating Arkansas’s rich African-American sports legacy and the Black Razorbacks of Northwest Arkansas. A book signing will follow the discussion. A longtime figure in Arkansas sports, Evin Demirel is the author of African-American Athletes in Arkansas: Muhammad Ali’s Tour, Black Razorbacks and Other Forgotten Stories. Demirel has written for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, The New York Times, Sporting Life Arkansas, SB Nation Longform, and SlamOnline.
