Event Description: In conjunction with the grand opening of Sullivan Square in Bentonville, Orchard Properties has invited the World Champion sand sculptors, Dan Doubleday and Meredith Carson Doubleday to replicate some of Northwest Arkansas’ most notable landmarks. The Doubledays just won the 2017 International Sand Sculpting Championship on Virginia Beach and are here to show Northwest Arkansas what they can do with over 100 tons of sand. For 7 days, October 17-23, the Doubledays and their team will be creating a public art installation including sand sculptures showcasing Crystal Bridges, the Walmart AMP, Arvest Ballpark, and other notable NWA landmarks surrounding our newest apartments and townhomes. The entire project will utilize 140 tons of sand, take a total of 252 hours to complete, and stand 8-10 feet tall and 30 feet long. The sculptors will be working from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day, and we welcome the community to watch the event live by stopping by Sullivan Square, less than 2 miles from the Wal-Mart home office, @ 2900 SW I Street, Bentonville or tuning in to our Facebook Live feed.
